Work placements

External training companies
In addition to the internal training companies, Friesland College works in collaboration with a number of external training companies as part of the regular curriculum. Some of the training companies include Vroom & Dreesman (department store), the MCL Hospital, Sportcity Heerenveen and Piter Jelles meeting centre.

On-the-job training in the Netherlands
The student will undertake and complete several work placements during his/her vocational training at Friesland College. A work placement involves working for a number of weeks in a certified company, institution or internal training company. Each work placement usually lasts from 10  to 20 weeks.

On-the-job training abroad
Students can  also follow an  international work placement , for example, CIOS sports students who provide sports lessons in Brazil, or  work placements in the hospitality industry in European countries like Germany, Belgium, England and France, or overseas like Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire and Surinam.

Work placements in Europe are financially supported by Leonardo da Vinci grants for mobility and Comenius grants  of the European Platforme for school exchanges, both organizations within the Framework of the European Long Life Learning Program.
